Truck Renting and Leasing Association head dies

James Tom James, CEO of the Truck Renting and Leasing Association, died of an apparent heart attack Dec. 15 at his home in Arlington, Va. He was 51. James joined the $2 million-revenue, Alexandria, Va.-based organization in 2002 as senior vice president of government relations. During his time as TRALA's top lobbyist, he helped bring about several federal and state reforms that saved the industry hundreds of millions of dollars in unnecessary costs, the association said.
